Hijab Event 2013 - Hijab I'm In Love
Women and fashion are undeniably two things that cannot be separated. Of late, there has been a rise in the trend of fashionable hijabs. While this is seen as a positive development for hijabis, these alleged hijab whose initial purpose was to act as a clothing to cover up a sister's aurah, has turned into something that no longer truly represents the ideal image of a Muslim woman as portrayed by the Quran and sunnah.
“And stay in your houses, and do not display
yourselves like that of the times of ignorance (jahiliyyah)...” (al-Ahzab, 33)
Prophet Muhammad SAW said: “The
woman is ‘Awrah, when she leaves [her home] Shaytān (satan - may Allah curse
him) looks at her.” (at-Tirmidhi)
This main
objective of this program is not to discourage all sisters from trying to cover
themselves, but it serves as a platform of knowledge-sharing in gaining better
understanding of the true definition of hijab and protecting a woman's aurah.
Prophet S.A.W said: “Haya comes from Eman;
Eman leads to Paradise. Obscenity comes from antipathy; and antipathy leads to
the fire.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari) A Muslim woman feels shy to do anything that
would displease her Lord in any aspect. She has haya in her talk, she has haya
in her gaze, she has haya in her clothing, she has haya in her walk”.
This event took place on the 2nd of February, 2013 at Masjid Asy-syakirin, KLCC with no charge at all. We would like to thanked our generous sponsors and everyone who has made this event a success.
